LOOM has
received numerous major awards and recognition in design and architecture,
including a 2002 Progressive Architecture Award for 49
Grace Street (squeeze play), a San Francisco residence, 1998 Progressive
Architecture Award, a 1996 Progressive Architecture Citation, and two
Honor Awards from the American Institute of Architects. Loom was recognized
by the Architectural League of New York as one of the Emerging Voices
in architecture in 1999. Their most recognized work includes Knox
Garden in North Minneapolis, (published in Architecture, May 1996
and 97), Unfolding
House in Bangkok, Thailand, (published in the New York Times, March,
1999, and the drawings were acquired by the San Francisco Museum of Modern
Art for its permanent collection), an installation entitled Physical
Hygiene at the Southern Exposure Gallery, San Francisco, the Woman
Suffrage Memorial, St. Paul, Minnesota, Onan
Observatory in southwestern Minnesota, and a series of Folded
Plate rug designs as part of the Tibetan Modern, Architects Collection
for Elson & Company (the rugs were also acquired by the San Francisco
Museum of Modern Art for its permanent collection).
